A day immersed in the future. Continuing on yesterday’s workshop with FOAM, a group of us spent the day diving deeper into the 4 future scenarios we started imagining yesterday. We came up with what situations from these scenarios would taste like, what ingredients would be in them, how food would be served and what stories would be told within them.
It’s fascinating to imagine the details of a particular future and the steps that have led to that particular situation. We had fish slime as a potential ingredient, an Ikea eco-Gozo island where citizens can only buy their way in, mezcal as a ceremonial drink in a society that has super respect for water, pirates, disappearing ingredients and a whole more.
This will all be channeled into food and artefacts for the exhibition opening on May 5th. The question that’s running around in my head: how do we transmit all the rich stories we came up with to those experiencing the exhibition?
